How does red light work?
Red light therapy uses specific light wavelengths (red and near-infrared light 600—900 nm) it stimulates our cells at the mitochondrial level, which can give the cells more energy. The light stimulates the body's “powerhouses” -- the mitochondria -- so that they produce more ATP, which is the cells' fuel. Studies show that this can lead to faster recovery, better skin and a more balanced aging process.
The benefits of red light therapy
Anti-aging for the skin:
Research has shown that red light stimulates fibroblasts, the cells that produce collagen. This can reduce fine lines, improve skin elasticity and increase skin moisture levels. Many users experience firmer, more glowing skin after regular use.
Faster recovery and stronger muscles:
Studies have shown that PBM can improve anaerobic capacity and muscle strength, making it perfect for those who love exercise.
Strengthened brain health and memory:
The light treatment can improve blood flow to the brain and reduce inflammation, which can protect against dementia and other neurological diseases.
Support for immune system and inflammation reduction:
Red light has also been shown to have a positive effect on brain health by reducing inflammation, improving blood flow and supporting memory functions. This could have implications for the prevention of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
