Evandro F. Fang is an associate professor of molecular gerontology at the University of Oslo and Akershus University Hospital in Norway. His research group focuses on molecular mechanisms of aging and age-related neurodegeneration, specifically on how cells remove damaged mitochondria through “mitophagy”. Fang's lab is also involved in research on the NAD+ mitophagy/autophagy axis in connection with healthy aging and Alzheimer's disease. He is engaged in transferring laboratory findings into clinical applications and is involved in five clinical trials based on NAD+.

Fang has published over 100 articles in international journals and has received several awards, including the Norwegian National Dementia Research Prize in 2023. After his PhD at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, he had six years of postdoctoral research in the United States, and opened his laboratory in Oslo in 2017. He is the founder and coordinator of several research networks, including NO-AGE and NO-AD.
